INTRODUCTION

1: The Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship

The Aga Khan Foundation’s International Scholarship Programme (ISP) was established by His Highness the Aga Khan. The ISP aims to support gifted, outstanding students from developing countries, who have no other means of financing their studies, to pursue full-time postgraduate studies at reputable higher education institutions of their choice.





2: The American Association of University Women


International Fellowships have been in existence since 1917. The program provides support for women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and who intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career. A limited number of awards are available for study outside of the U.S. (excluding the applicant’s home country) to women who are members of Graduate Women International. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported.





3: The Civil Society Leadership Awards


The Open Society Foundations award grants and fellowships throughout the year to organizations and individuals who share Open Society values. We look for grantees who have a vision and whose efforts will lead to lasting social change. 

The vast majority of our grants are awarded to organizations that we approach directly, but we do list some open opportunities below. Other funding opportunities are available through Open Society’s network of national and regional foundations.




4: Conacyt


Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia (CONACYT) is Mexico's national organisation for science and technology.

CONACYT offers national and international scholarships for high-achieving Mexican students to study postgraduate masters and PhD degree programmes. 





5: ColFuturo


COLFUTURO has more than 120 agreements with different institutions abroad. They offer discounts from 100% to 10% on the tuition. To access discounts you must be a beneficiary of the Scholar Credit Program.

6: Foreign Fulbright Student Program


The Fulbright Foreign Student Program enables graduate students, young professionals and artists from abroad to study and conduct research in the United States. 

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program operates in more than 160 countries worldwide. Approximately 4,000 foreign students receive Fulbright scholarships each year.

8: The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program


The World Bank’s Development Economics Vice Presidency (DEC) provides scholarships to students and young researchers, contributing to the World Bank’s mission of forging new dynamic approaches to capacity development and knowledge sharing in the developing world.

It is an important component of the World Bank’s efforts to promote economic development and shared prosperity through investing in education, capacity building, and developing human resources in the developing world. 








9: MPOWER Financing


Our international student scholarships support future leaders and are designed to help as many students as possible. In addition to a variety of specific scholarships like those for DACA students, and women in STEM, we also offer unique monthly scholarship opportunities.

10: The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship 


The scholarship is based upon demonstrated need; however, the award is not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses. At the time of application, the applicant is required to indicate additional financial resources adequate to meet her estimated expenses. 

Examples of additional resources are personal and family funds, tuition waivers, work scholarships, teaching assistantships, study grants and other scholarships.

The maximum amount awarded to a student is $12,500. Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual needs.






11: JAMS Foundation- Weinstein International Fellowship Program


The Weinstein JAMS International Fellowship Program, inaugurated in 2008, provides opportunities for qualified individuals from outside the United States to study dispute resolution processes and practices in the U.S. to assist them in their efforts to advance the resolution of disputes in their home countries.





12: The Rotary Foundation


District grants fund small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in your community and communities abroad. Each district chooses which activities it will fund with these grants.

What district grants support

You can use district grants to fund a variety of district and club projects and activities, including:

● Humanitarian projects, including service travel and disaster recovery efforts

● Scholarships for any level, length of time, location, or area of study

● Youth programs, including Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Rotaract, and Interact

● Vocational training teams, which are groups of professionals who travel abroad either to teach local professionals about their field or to learn more about it themselves

Members qualify when they are at the top 15% of their class, and are given access to a wide range of rewards, scholarships, travel and study abroad opportunities, and more. 





14: Organization of American States


The OAS Academic Scholarship Program (Regular Program), established in 1958, grants scholarships every year for the pursuit of Master’s Degrees, Doctoral Degrees and Graduate Research leading to a university degree. 

The OAS Special Caribbean Scholarships Program (SPECAF), established in 1983, grants scholarships for the last two years of undergraduate studies to citizens and residents of the English-speaking Caribbean OAS Member States, and Suriname. Both programs follow the OAS Manual of Procedures for the Scholarship and Training Program.

In addition to these programs the OAS, through its Partnerships Program for Education and Training (PAEC), offer other attractive scholarship opportunities for academic studies with the support of its partner institutions in the Americas and around the world. 

PAEC is administered in accordance with the provision of the respective corporation agreement and in line with the principles set forth in the OAS Manual of Procedures for the Scholarship and Training Program.

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and supported in its implementation by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

22: USAC Scholarships


Historically USAC provides more than $2 million in scholarships, grants and discounts annually. Scholarships are awarded three times a year to assist USAC students with their study abroad expenses. 

We have a variety of funding opportunities available for students enrolled in USAC programs who have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (please note that USAC scholarships are not available for students participating in any non-USAC international experiences).

24: CEA Study Abroad Scholarships


CEA CAPA is committed to increasing access to study and interning abroad. We offer more than $2 million each year in scholarships, affiliations, and grant programs.

CEA CAPA scholarships are available to students on programs of three weeks or more. All scholarships require students to complete an application, and not all scholarships are available each term. FEA scholarships are administered by the Fund for Education Abroad, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to study abroad.




25: AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships & Grants


The scholarships listed here are available to AIFS Study Abroad and/or Global Experiences internship students. If you are studying on a customized, faculty-led program through your home institution, these scholarships are not applicable to your program, though you may wish to check with your school regarding any available funding.

27: Critical Language Scholarship


The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is an immersive summer opportunity for American college and university students to learn languages essential to America's engagement with the world.

The CLS Program provides opportunities for American college and university students to study languages and cultures essential to America's engagement with the world. 

Each summer, American undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at U.S. colleges and universities across the country, spend eight to ten weeks learning one of fourteen languages at an intensive study abroad institute. The CLS Program is designed to promote rapid language gains and essential intercultural fluency in regions that are critical to U.S. national security and economic prosperity.





28: Corinne Jeannine Schillings Scholarships


The Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation is dedicated to preserving the memory of Corinne Schillings, who lost her life on March 6, 2004 in a water taxi accident in Baltimore Harbor.

Corinne loved to learn, especially languages and about other cultures. It is our intent that she be remembered through the young women who receive scholarships from her foundation

30: Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship


The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation supports more than 1,400 exceptional college students each year, with annual scholarships of $3.55 million awarded through 3 nationally recognized programs.






31: Generation Google Scholarship


The Generation Google Scholarship was established to help aspiring students pursuing computer science degrees excel in technology and become leaders in the field. Selected students will receive $10,000 USD (for those studying in the US) or $5,000 CAD (for those studying in Canada) for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Generation Google Scholarship will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrated leadership, and academic performance. 

The program is open to students who meet all the minimum qualifications and we strongly encourage students that identify with groups historically excluded from the technology industry, including Women, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, to apply.







32: Erasmus Mundus Scholarships


The Erasmus Mundus Programme supports European top-quality Master Courses and enhances the visibility and attractiveness of European higher education in third countries. 

The Euroculture Master programme offers several Erasmus Mundus scholarships for the 2023-2025 intake. Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be granted to succesful applicants at least until the end of the 2026 project.





33: Chevening Scholarships


Chevening offers fully funded scholarships and fellowships to individuals with ideas to create positive change.

Chevening is the UK government’s international scholarships and fellowships programme.

Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, we offer individuals who show potential to inspire, inform, and influence positive change the opportunity to study at a UK university to gain a UK educational qualification.

35: IES Abroad


IES Abroad offers a variety of study abroad scholarship and aid options. You will be considered for all of the below funding when you submit an aid application, with the exception of the Disability Grant, which requires a separate application.

37: VLIR-UOS Awards Scholarships


We award scholarships to students and professionals from Africa, Asia or Latin America to study in Flanders, as well as travel grants to Flemish/European students to do fieldwork/internships in Africa, Asia or Latin America.

Scholarships in Flanders

ICP Connect study programmes are accredited international study programmes. We award scholarships to applicants from 29 eligible countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to attend one of the 15 master's programmes taught in English at one or more Flemish universities. VLIR-UOS provides an annual intake of 10 new first-year scholarships for each ICP.

39: Shanghai Government Scholarships


Introduction

Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship was established in 2006 with the aims to enhance the development of international student education in Shanghai and encourage more and more outstanding international students and scholars to ECNU.

Target Group

Shanghai Government Scholarship is for the excellent international students who apply for the undergraduate, graduate or PhD program at East China Normal University. Applicants for the undergraduate program with HSK-3 level or above but without a qualified level can apply for a one-year pre-college program(Application Deadline May 10) to study Chinese with full scholarship sponsored. If the applicant still cannot achieve the qualified HSK level after the pre-college program, the applicant will graduate as a language student.





40: Korean Government Scholarship


Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher education institutions in Korea, both undergraduate and graduate level. 

The scholarship aims to enhance international education exchange and strengthen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.





41: Japanese Government Scholarship


Scholarship loan programs are important educational measures to the goals of equal opportunity for education and human resource development, and they are broadly implemented by the independent administrative institution, Japan Student Services Organization, and local governments, incorporated non-profit organizations and schools, etc.

 The Japan Student Services Organization provides scholarship loan programs for exemplary students who have difficulty in getting education because of financial reasons. The programs offer interest-free loans and long-term low interest-bearing loans. The FY2010 budget for the whole program totaled 1,005.5 billion yen, which would provide 1,180,000 students with scholarship loans.





42: The Bridging Foundation Scholarship


The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. The United States-Japan Bridging Foundation funds scholarships administered through AATJ to help students study abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year. Since 1999, more than 2,000 students have received Bridging Scholarships to study abroad in Japan.

ARCE offers funded fellowships and a research associate program for a wide range of scholars looking to conduct research in Egypt. Previous fellows have represented the fields of anthropology, archaeology, architecture, fine art, art history, Coptic studies, economics, Egyptology, history, humanistic social sciences, Islamic studies, literature, political science, religious studies and even music. 

Alumni include directors and faculty of Middle Eastern studies and history departments at leading universities, in the United States and abroad, and curators of Egyptian and Near Eastern art at major museums and research institutions. Publications produced by scholars through ARCE fellowship experiences contribute substantially to research on Egypt by Americans since 1957.

51: Monash International Merit Scholarship


We invite students from all countries who have received an offer from Monash or who are currently enrolled with the university to apply for the Monash International Merit Scholarship. As a scholarship recipient, you will receive $10,000 per annum for the duration of your degree.





52: Boren Scholarships and Fellowships


Boren Scholars and Fellows study a wide range of critical languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, and Swahili. Boren Awards are available to students of all proficiency levels who are committed to enhancing their skills.





CONCLUSION 


The first and foremost important aspect is your academic performance because most of the scholarships are based on merit and excellence in academic performance. Therefore, in order to apply for merit-based scholarships it is important to maintain an academic percentage of 93% and above or Grade A for the past two years.
