1: Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to international students undertaking undergraduate study at the University of Melbourne.


Application type

No application is required. You will be automatically considered for this award.

Eligibility & selection criteria

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

> Be a citizen of a country other than Australia and New Zealand and not a permanent resident of Australia;

> Have completed secondary school outside Australia or a foundation program in Australia

> Have received an unconditional offer for an undergraduate course at the University of Melbourne;

> Have  a secondary school result that places you in the top 3%, such as:

* GCE A-levels: at least three A* grades with numerical grades and an average result of at least 93% in the best three subjects

* Most Australian Foundation Studies: an overall result at least 98%

* International Baccalaureate (IB): a score of at least 42 (must be completed at a secondary school outside of Australia)

* US High School: a GPA of at least 3.9 in combination with a SAT of at least 1500 or a ACT of at least 31

* Canada Secondary School: an overall score of at least 97%

* India Secondary School (CBSE, ISCE or State Board Exam); an overall score of at least 95%

* Vietnam High School an overall Year 12 GPA 9.0 or above

> Not have previously undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of a year 12 program)

Selection criteria

This scholarship and value are offered to eligible candidates based on academic merit and ranking according to prior academic results.


Conditions

This scholarship can be deferred to the following calendar year and is subject to the Coursework Scholarship Terms and Conditions.


Application process

Students will be automatically considered for this scholarship.


When will I know the outcome?

The indicative turn around times to receive an outcome is 2 - 3 weeks from when the student received an unconditional course offer.

Unsuccessful candidates will not be notified.

What are the benefits?

This scholarship provides either a:

$10,000 tuition fee remission in the first year of an undergraduate degree50 per cent fee remission for the three year duration of an undergraduate degree, or100 per cent fee remission for the three year duration of an undergraduate degree



2: Melbourne Chancellors Scholarship (international students)

This scholarship is awarded to talented undergraduate students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement during their Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate (IB) undertaken in Australia.

No application is required. You will be automatically considered for this award.

Eligibility & selection criteria

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

> Be a citizen of a country other than Australia

> Have completed Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia

> Have applied for a University of Melbourne undergraduate course via VTAC for commencement in the year following completion of Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate

> Not have previously undertaken any tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed as part of a Year 12 program).


Selection criteria

The Melbourne Chancellor's Scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit and guaranteed to all students who satisfy the undergraduate course prerequisites and:

* achieved an ATAR of at least 99.90, or

* Intend to undertake the Bachelor of Music and achieved an ATAR of at least 99.85 and achieved an audition score of A+ , or

* Are of Indigenous Australian descent and achieved an ATAR of at least 90Conditions


The Melbourne Chancellor's Scholarship is subject to the Coursework Scholarships Terms and Conditions (as amended) and can be deferred to the following academic year.


Application process 

Eligible students who have applied for admission to the University via VTAC will be automatically considered for the Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarship.


When will I know the outcome?

The first offers are made a few days after the Victorian Year 12 ATAR results are released in December. Further offers are made in January and February to students who have completed IB or Year 12 outside Victoria. Scholarship offers do not represent an offer for admission to a University of Melbourne Bachelor degree. Course offers are made separately through VTAC.

> A 50% tuition fee remission for the standard full-time duration of a Bachelor degree course

> Melbourne Global Scholars Award of up to $2,500 for an approved period of overseas study as an Exchange or Study Abroad student

> Guaranteed International Full Fee place in one of the professional master degrees for students who meet the prerequisite course and entry requirements for the master degree


Accommodation Close to Campus

If you live in rural or regional Victoria or outside Victoria, then you are eligible for priority placement in the Melbourne Accommodation Program. To support your transition to Melbourne, the University can accommodate you in one of our residential halls or partner-provided facilities close to the Parkville Campus. The offer does not include the cost of the accommodation. Places are limited so apply early to avoid disappointment.

3: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions

The Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Actions are a researcher mobility programme which supports researchers at all stages of their careers, regardless of age and nationality. They are among Europe’s most competitive and prestigious awards, aimed at supporting the best and most promising scientists. There are four distinct Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Actions in the programme with a budget of €1 billion. Please see the "Variations of this scholarship" link below for the details of each award.

5: University College Scholarships

University College is a residential college that awards a number of scholarships to eligible students each year. Scholarships are awarded based primarily on financial need, although other criteria may also need to be met, particularly for our larger scholarships (such as location or area of study). These scholarships are made possible by the generous donations of alumni and the wider University College community.
