Job Description

SaaS Engineering/OAL is transforming and modernizing the way we do business to bring the highest value to our internal and external customers.  We need someone who can create that narrative both internally and externally. 

This critical position is responsible for creating and executing executive and internal/external communication strategies and plans (for a variety of communications channels/content including presentations, messaging, articles, social media, events, video, web and more) that inform and engage our people and customers and supports our key business objectives. 

This individual will be responsible for clearly articulating the SaaS Engineering/OAL Value Proposition for our external partners and stakeholders as well as align our managers and employees  to mission. This position reports to the VP, Chief of Staff, SaaS Engineering/OAL within business transformation and strategy execution programs. 

The ideal candidate has extensive executive and external communications skills, has managed product, innovation, employee and customer narratives, is a strategic and creative thinker and writer and is calm and level-headed under pressure. 

This individual has an extreme ability to distill highly complex stories into compelling narratives/visuals. This is especially important in an organization with a widely diverse portfolio., The candidate will work with leadership to find the common threads and major themes that describe our shared mission and values and create a sense of affinity to our mission.

This individual must be highly skilled at creating powerful presentations. This individual excels at working collaboratively with high-level executives and colleagues and consistently deliver high-quality work even under time constraints and pressure.  

Also key to this position is the ability to be highly collaborative across a diverse set of lines of business and product and service areas.  Ultimately, this candidate would understand their unique role in creating content that depicts the strategic direction and imperatives and create fluency amongst all levels of the organization regarding our shared purpose and mission(s)

This position will also drive communications and adoption of programs that are focused on new and emerging requirements and trends that are impacting our organization in a highly complex and changing environment.  

This candidate will have experience with creating change narratives including the case for change and depict the specifics related to change roadmaps and the change journey.   Content must be created for and accessed by managers and employees to align them with our mission, services and products and to understand the impact they all have in our success.


Required Skills and abilities

● 12+ years of experience in executive/external communications.

● Consulting and change management expertise – deep understanding of transformation strategies and principles

● Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, English or related field.

● Experience working with, and creating and editing executive leadership messaging and events.

● Experience working cross-functionally at all levels of organization.

● Experience supporting leaders in technology or business.

● Proven track record in creating brand, communications and event strategies.

● Strong experience in quickly grasping new information and distilling complex stories into compelling narratives.

● Impeccable writing, editing, speaking and PowerPoint skills – creating presentations.

● Experience sourcing stories and creative ideas.

● Has an eye for layout and design, and leverage visuals to communicate concepts effectively.

● Well-versed and at-ease with digital media and social media tools and platforms.

● Influencer who is comfortable with taking risks and experimenting with novel solutions.

● You’re an independent, capable problem solver with a strategic mindset.

● You’re focused and flexible, with the ability to prioritize, work with tight deadlines, and change direction quickly.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy + Planning

● Create and implement executive communications strategy and plans

● Support development of an integrated communications strategy Position and manage executives’ presence with employees as it relates to SaaS Eng/OAL programs and projects.

● Proactively identify gaps in our communications and raise solutions for addressing them

● Track and analyze effectiveness of communications efforts, improve existing processes, and research new communication approaches

● Identify strong network of communication collaborators and content owners who are integral to the development and execution of the strategy

● Deliver a strategy and content with the intent of creating a sense of community and cultural affinity and belonging – especially in highly diverse and complex community


Programs + Process Management

● Establish and oversee the communication governance practices that drive a desired and consistent experience for targeted audience (i.e., business partners, employees, internal customers)

● Distill the organizational attributes and solutions that drive employee adoption of the critical methodologies (OKRs, agile, DevSecOps, SAFe) to create a strategic framework to deliver executive and external facing communications and activities

● Input into communication standards, processes, and best practices 

● Collaborate closely with OAL’s “Project Lighthouse Team” on content that can be repurposed for consumption by our broader organization and partners


Content and Events

● Create powerful, concise and compelling customer facing narratives/decks/visuals for external consumption (and internal as it relates to executive communications)

● Determine innovative ways to highlight key programs, accomplishments that utilize the entire Leadership Team as well as the SVP of SaaS Eng/OA

● Work cross-functionally with various internal teams/stakeholders to outline and develop impactful comms, presentations, speeches, scripts, videos posts, and other materials (that reflects/aligns to Oracle’s Brand/Organization)

● Content curation for executive and external assets

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the United States only

Hiring Range: from $104,000 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
