Job Description

Leads or contributes to the data design for an application or solution, helping to define how data will flow, be stored and structured. 

Collaborates with business partners and subject matter experts to elicit and understand data requirements and relevant principles and standards. 

Translates data requirements into application and solution data models and validates these using data profiling methods. 

Understands and documents the data flow between applications and the mappings from source to target. 

Creates and enhances the business glossary, data dictionary and related metadata. 

Responsibilities

● Translate business req. into data centric spec. (Technology & Architecture)

● Present & drive data centric guidance & conclusions based on req.

● Propose & consult on data centric components (Unified pipelines, stores, & models)

● Discover, classify, & organize data centrally

● Design data centric materials (blueprints, decision trees, portfolios, etc.)

● Support definition of data centric standards and principles for a unified ref. arch.

● Contribute to Data Services advising on architecture & technical solutions and presenting work to stakeholders

Job Qualifications

● Understanding of data analysis, business principles, & operations

● Knowledge on data infrastructures (incl. Hardware, Network, etc.)

● Experienced in cloud technologies (esp. Microsoft Azure stack)

● Strong communication and ability to present vision to non technical people

● Passionate about data, analytics, and problem-solving attitude

● Preferred experience in IT Operations/Engineering (DevOps)

● Preferred external certification (DAMA, ITIL or TOGAF)

● Preferred knowledge on MS Azure cloud & Alation catalog technologies
