Eligibility criteria


This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need. 

Eligible applicants must satisfy the conditions below by Friday 31 March 2023:

1. Applicants should be citizens of: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam.

2. Hold a conditional or unconditional offer from the College to study an undergraduate degree starting in October 2023.


Application process


Stage 1: Apply for one of the eligible undergraduate degree courses at Imperial College London

You must submit a UCAS application for study within the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine or Faculty of Natural Sciences as soon as possible and have an offer of admission by the deadline of 11:59 pm (UK local time), Friday 31 March 2024.

Stage 2: Departments will be asked to nominate their top 2 eligible candidates.

Stage 3: Nominated offer holders will be invited to apply for the scholarship

Commencing 8 May 2024, nominated applicants who have an offer of admission will be contacted by email with scholarship information and invited to complete a World Scientific application form in order to apply for the scholarship.

Applicants will be assessed on academic potential and financial need. Applicants will be required to successfully demonstrate that they come from a financially disadvantaged background and this will be assessed through the information provided on the scholarship application.

Applicants should submit the application by 11:59 pm (UK local time) Friday 26 May 2024.

Value of the Award

The successful scholars will receive a cash bursary £5,000 per annum. The award is for a maximum of 4 years, excluding repeat periods of study.

Outcome of the Award

The successful applicants will be notified by email no later than 30 June 2023. If you have not heard from us by this date, please assume you have been unsuccessful in your application.

The successful scholars may be expected to meet informally with the donor on occasions, participating in events surrounding this scholarship, or be required to submit a short statement of progress that will be shared with donors.

This award is for students starting in the academic year 2023-24 and cannot be deferred. All scholarships are awarded subject to students accepting award Terms and Conditions.

2: Lara and Biodun Olanrewaju Scholarship

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the Lara and Biodun Olanrewaju scholarship, 

> Candidates must:Plan to commence a four-year undergraduate degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering or the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2024/25.

> Demonstrate exceptional academic merit and/or potential

> And be in one of the following ethnic heritages (or their equivalent in the respective application systems):

- Black – African

To apply for the Lara and Biodun Olanrewaju scholarship, you need to:

Value:

The scholarship value is £18,000 per academic year. This will be applied towards your tuition fee balance first, with any remaining funding paid directly to you to support living costs.

Eligibility criteria

These bursaries are open to female students from Imperial College who are studying for undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Life Sciences and Earth Sciences (Geology), or the Centre for Environmental Policy to undertake an international research placement of up to a maximum of three months with a leading female scientist in a similar institution. 

The Stevenson Fund is aimed at assisting the long-term scientific careers and ambitions of women in key scientific disciplines in which there is significant female under-representation.

Scholarships will be awarded to exceptional International Baccalaureate students who achieve academic excellence in their diploma programme.


Application process

There is no formal application process or separate application form for the scheme.

Academically excellent IB applicants will be nominated for selection for this scholarship by the Imperial department to which they apply as part of the admission process.

A minimum predicted score of 44 is required but the selection process will also take a holistic view of your application.
